Oakfield man accused of scrap metal thefts

BATAVIA — An Oakfield man was arrested Wednesday on two felony counts of grand larceny following a nine-month investigation into thefts of scrap metal in Oakfield, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

LITTLE VALLEY — The Cattaraugus County Legislature budgeted $6 million more than was needed to meet expenses in 2007, according to an audit of Treasurer Joe Keller’s comprehensive financial report for the year.

OLEAN — The Olean Common Council voted, 6-1, Tuesday to amend its water and sewer code, transferring ownership of residents’ water meters to the city in preparation for free replacement of about 6,500 devices.
